Not a Bad Knife, August 27, 2010 This review is from: RUKO 6-Inch Blade Survival Knife with PVC Sheath, Compass and Survival Kit (Sports) I found this knife while camping in Ontario and think it is pretty good. The PCV case is cheap and flimsy but the knife itself keeps a very sharp edge. The handle is made from tough plastic and is comfortable to hold. There is some rust on the case grommits and screw collars but I have no idea how long this had been sitting in the water before being found.

I got one of these when I was a kid and loved it. I still have it to this day too. I learned from it the differences between a cheap knife and a quality knife, so I give it credit for that.
This being a Cheap knife:
-Low quality steel is difficult to sharpen but after a long time I was able to put a decent edge on it (although not with the included sharpening stone).
-The sheath has no middle layer, so the blade comes in direct contact with the stitching and eventually cuts through it, which can be a safety hazard.
-The hollow handle means the blade is only weakly attached at the top and could snap off easily. On a good survival knife, the blade should extend down through the handle for better strength.
-The compass was poorly sealed and all the liquid leaked out of it one day, so I just removed it.
-The wire saw inside the handle was horrible and I was unable to cut anything with it. I replaced and... Read more
