This Whetstone Cutlery "Survival Knife" is actually a fairly good kit of basic survival gear packed into the sheath and knife handle. I picked this up at a different site on sale and I'm not sure that it I would pay the asking price here, but here are my observations:

Main Knife -
+ Fairly heavy with a large grip that feels good in hand
+ Blade is large but ships somewhat dull but takes an edge with a little work
+ Saw on blade spine is surprisingly good

Survival Gear In Knife Handle -
+ Compass under the cap is OK, points "North"
+ Various small bits include a band-aid, tweezers, safety pin, matches, razor blade, etc

Belt Sheath -
+ Can fit on very large belts
+ Large plastic sheath with fabric retaining straps for the knife hilt
+ Includes leg strap for securing sheath
+ Has a good amount of cord wrapped around the sheath
+ Plastic divider includes messaging instructions, signaling mirror, slingshot,... Read more

When receiving this knife set, with the sheath and all of its goodies in it and on it. I was pretty happy, until I took the knife out and realized that it was pretty obvious to me, that it was or had been used. I mean, the blade itself was not that great of shape, it had finger prints on it, and then where the blade meets the handle and the cross bar, (not sure what its called) it is chipped, like someone used it to hammer something? I don't know, then on the cross bar, it has knicks in it, and then the handle, it is worn and has two gashes on it, as I looked further it looked worn down, I don't know but I should of recieved a brand new knife and as it shows online, and the box it shows a stainless steel blade in its normal color instead I recieved a black blade that doesn't look the same. Overall I looked at the rest of the materials (survival stuff) and it appears to all be there, and it is a survival knive, but for only $21 bucks, I can't complain too much, but....I am the type... Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)

Bought and paid for 2 of these for my wife and I's camping/bugout equipment. Not a bad knife overall. Swapmeet quality, but seems sturdy and the compass does seem to work. The slingshot seems pretty cool too. Only problem is although we bought and paid for 2, we only received one, and it had some rust to boot. Tried contacting the seller concerning the issue, but no response. Then contacted Amazon concerning the matter only to receive an email response a day or two later referring me back to the seller. I ended up having to just request a return, but I think it's BS that I should have to pay for the return shipping. Seems like a scam to me. It'd make sense though, since the seller is based out of Florida, one of the biggest scam capitols in the world. I'm going to contact Amazon again before I pay for any return shipping, and research the Amazon A-z Guarantee, as this SHOULD be covered, because so far this has been one annoying transaction.
