Strong, lightweight, easy-opening knife that is full-sized but still slim. Why buy this instead of a Spyderco Cara Cara, etc.? Because this has a deep-carry pocket clip and optional Ti-Ni coated blade/clip that the others don't. I also find this SOG more comfortable for IWB carry. If those things don't matter to you, then there are Spyderco knives that are virtually identical. Both company's products can be opened with a hard "flick" and without touching blade.
Unfortunately, I had to send first knife back for a replacement because the Ti-Ni coating wasn't properly appled. The Ti-Ni coating on the replacement knife seems to be excellent, however. Stuff happens. If you need the knife to "disappear" when in your pocket or waistband, the deep carry/Ti-Ni clip is still the way to go.
i've owned many sogs, and have carried all of them in combat, i love the thin structure and the quick opening functions of the flash and the trident, i also was issued the seal elite, and with all of these knives sog truely hit a home run. So when i decided to purchase the sogzilla i was genuinely excited to start playing with it, and while it is sharp, the construction of this knife seems so-so, it doesnt open quickly its actually pretty difficult and could cost a life when seconds really matter. all in all if you want a good sog dish out the extra few dollars and go with a better knife
